HAMPTON, Virginia -- On September 29th, 2025, Advex Corporation was awarded $4.9 million in funding, under the Supplier Development Funding (SDF) program, which supports broader supply chain efforts by the Maritime Industrial Base Program to strengthen U.S. Navy shipbuilding. Advex will use the funds to acquire capital equipment that expands the company’s manufacturing capability.
 

The purchased equipment will include nine carefully selected, state-of-the-art machines: one (1) Five-Axis Trunnion CNC Mill, one (1) Four-Axis Horizontal CNC Mill, one (1) Six-Axis Manual Mill, one (1) Vertical Four-Axis CNC Mill, one (1) Three-Axis CNC Mill, two (2) Wire EDMs, one (1) Form P600 Die Sink EDM, and one (1) CNC Lathe. A Coordinate Measurement Machine will also be purchased to support inspection of components made on the new machine tools. The equipment is expected to be fully integrated into Advex facilities within 12 months.

To accommodate the incoming equipment and increased capacity, Advex is investing $1.5M in existing facility and infrastructure enhancements to HVAC systems, lighting, and renovation of the Quality Assurance Dimensional Inspection area. Additionally, to ensure the newest equipment is utilized to the fullest capability, Advex’s investment will include specialized tooling and ancillary equipment.

This funding marks the third award to Advex Corporation under the SDF program following investment of $1.5M in 2020 and $1.8M in 2022.
