Liquid penetrant inspections are performed to detect discontinuities left open to the surface of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Advex uses visible or fluorescent penetrants, both water and solvent removable. The visible dye penetrants are used in the inspection of general welds and other non-critical applications. Fluorescent liquid penetrant is normally used for the inspection of smooth or machined surfaces where high sensitivity is required. Liquid penetrant inspections can be performed on or off-site in a shop or open environment.
